LAOIS HUNT PONY CLUB

- Musical Ride -

 

We've had great fun and success at Musical Ride over the last few years. This competition is based around good quality flatwork to music. The competition takes place at the Irish Pony Club Festival. There are many different prize categories including  Best Musical Ride, Best Artistic Impression, Best Under 12 etc. The overall winning team get the opportunity to perform their ride at the Dublin Horse Show. A great honour indeed.

 

Our most recent Musical ride theme was based on Dad's Army and was put together by Celine Essane. We won the Under 12 category and this was a wonderful achievement considering some of our youngest team members were not long off lead rein. The music was superb and brought a tear to some of the audience's eyes who got quite sentimental about "Dad's Army".

 

A few years ago, the club won the overall title for 2 years in a row. The themes on those occassions were Downton Stradbally and a theme based on the Mounted Garda Unit.

 

The Musical Ride is a wonderful competition and a great way to perfect your flatwork in a fun way.
