Young Breeders Training Day

An opportunity to for those aged 14 to 25years to assess horses at the inaugural 'Tattersalls Elite Event Horse Sale' on September 12th with mentor John Watson.

John is a renowned rider, breeder, and trainer of event horses. Among his many achievements he won an Olympic silver medal in 1978 and team gold in 1979. His son Sam is currently shortlisted for the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky this September on his homebred horse Horseware Bushman.

This promises to be an educational day with opportunity not only to view the performances of both proven and potential event horses and to assess their merits, but also the chance to see how they are evaluated by the market in real terms when they go under the hammer. John will be on hand to give his views on the athletes put forward for sale.

We really do want to encourage more young people to come out to these events. It is a great opportunity for the young to gain wisdom and insight on assessment of horses – in this case particularly for the sport of eventing. We will be hosting days focused specifically on dressage and showjumping with suitable mentors over the coming weeks.
